Launched in September 2012, UK Feminista’s film shows that violence against women and girls is not inevitable. The experts in the film make it clear that it is not a lack of solutions that is holding up progress on eliminating violence against women and girls – it is a lack of political will.
As Holly Dustin from the End Violence Against Women Coalition says, ‘What we really need to do is to have a revolution in the way that we approach ending violence against women and girls’.
In the film, leading campaigners from the End Violence Against Women Coalition, Imkaan, Eaves and others give crucial insights into the factors driving violence against women and girls – and how we can end it.
‘End Violence Against Women and Girls’ is the first in a series of four films that will be released in advance of a Feminist Lobby of Parliament on 24 October, exploring key issues of gender inequality – and what can be done about them.
