Information for the Melanated Being

This page refers to melanin, but before we start I mean no offence but I should ask DO YOU KNOW WHAT MELANIN IS....?

In the words of Dr Llaila Afrika, melanin is a civilising chemical inside the body that actually puts things and organises things to go to the right place at the right time. Melanin does not die, as ancient egyptian remains have been found with traces of melanin still present. Melanin makes a neuro net which brings things together and even stores thoughts; therefore the genetic code of my ancestors still lives within me. The velocity of growth, thought, nerve impluse/movement are all controlled by melanin. Melanin takes energy, and stores energy. There are 25million processes of the body per second and melanin organises them. See, its sooooo much more that they wanted you to believe.

Wiki definition states that.. Melanin is a pigment that is ubiquitous in nature, being found in most organisms.

In humans, melanin is the primary determinant of skin color. It is also found in hair, the pigmented tissue underlying the iris of the eye, and the stria vascularis of the inner ear. In the brain, tissues with melanin include the medulla and zona reticularis of the adrenal gland, and pigment-bearing neurons within areas of the brainstem, such as the locus coeruleus and the substantia nigra.

The melanin in the skin is produced by melanocytes, which are found in the basal layer of the epidermis. Although, in general, human beings possess a similar concentration of melanocytes in their skin, the melanocytes in some individuals and ethnic groups more frequently or less frequently express the melanin-producing genes, thereby conferring a greater or lesser concentration of skin melanin. Some individual animals and humans have very little or no melanin in their bodies, a condition known as albinism.

Science lesson over! :-)

Our differences are duly noted within the hue-man-race but proper guidelines were never established so we as melanin beings can accentuate the positive... instead we follow the path we have been told is our reality, instead of what it actually is. The GIFT of possessing melanin should be noted, not to separate and divide us but to support its beauty, purpose and use. We need to know how to care about ourselves as a collective group... Let the learning begin.

THE SUN:

The Sun plays a highly important part in our lives and the 24hr concept was adopted from the Sun worshippers, the Egyptians. 3000 years before Christ Egyptians began using a 365 day calender based on the Solar System. Now the media cover a story about harmful effects (which has its truths for some)all helping increase manufacturers trade on sunscreen - however as a melanin being we are sun kissed and it is our friend!

As melanin is a complex living molecule abundants in Africans it aids protecting Africans from ultraviolet rays - and like dark clothes are not worn in the sun due to its ability to hold heat attracting sun rays, the analogy is the same for melanin dominant beings, the sun is drawn to them creating amazing things. The sun recharges us, mind body and sould and shouldn't be avoided.

WATER:

Clean, pure water is needed as WATER is a LARGE part of what is inside of us... however pure water should preferably be used excluding ingredients such as Hydrogen Sulfide (a by product of the decay and disintegration of underground matter, harmful in large doses but commonly in bottled water)

Water helps a range of issues like hypertension reducing blood volume, low back pain by hydrating the disks in the spinal column during rest.

NUTRITION for THE BODY & MIND:

Low quality/fast foods should be avoided, it is laced with chemicals, salt and processed   - eating melanin-rich foods helps reducing the risks of developing diabetes.

Food that does not absorb sunlight like white flour products, white rice, sugar, and the like are not nutritionally helpful for the melanin being.

Frozen, box dinners, canned meat and canned veg all contain toxins. Most processed foods include the follwoing which should be avoided:

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt, Artificial Sweetners

The natural approach to controlling sugar levels is pure cinnamon as this more than double's insulins ability to metabolise sugar; therefore protecting against diabetes.

GOOD Foods/Fruits for the melanin being include:

Fresh fruit, vegetables, wild and brown rice, beans, fish, organic meats if you must, seeds, grains and nuts. Other beneficial food nutrients include wheat grass, barley grass and alfalfa all of which contain chlorophyll the same substance that helps plants convert sunlight into energy giving them their colour. This is how melanin rich people are also energised.

If you must eat meat, ensure it is organic and eaten with many vegetables and salads as this helps the digestion process.

Microwaves can be extremely toxic, especially when certain containers are used (styrofoam releases a toxic gas when heated)

Prescription drugs are readily/commonly given out in Western medicine, however this lacks viewing the interconnections of all organs and their co-dependence on each other. When one organ is functioning at a limited rate, only that organ is addressed which is a linear/largely uneffective way of examining the body.

Sadly money is the driving force behind healthcare, which is supported by sick people, not healthy ones.

When the body is realeasing mucus through the nose, mouth etc, or you have an elevated temperature, this is the body's natural defence and cleansing mechanism but this is not embraced or encouraged by western medicine. The body is designed to expel liquid mucus to self cleanse.

Anti-biotic means against life.....

Tel-lie-vision (television), games and computers all place limits on the use of much of the brain; e.g we no longer memorise numbers anymore and we allow society to dumb us down.

Supplements of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants play an important role and should be taken as many of us have nutritional deficiencies

B1 thiamine enhances circulation, and healthy hair, muscle tone, digestive tract and eyes.

B2 riboflavin supports red cell production and alleviates fatigue.

B3 niacin promotes healthy skin and good circulation and is responsible for utlising the carbohydrates and proteins

B5 pantothenic acid is useful for reducing stress

B6 pyridoxine aids the metabolism of proteins and fats, balances sodium and potassium levels and produces red blood cells.

B12 will reduce the anemic conditions as it helps red blood cells grow and produce.

Folic acid builds red blood cells adn strengthens the hair.

Zinc boosts your immune system and promotes healing.

Vitamin A - Supports healthy skin, eye health, and enhancances immunity, also assisting in bone and and teeth formation. Found in yellow and green fruits and vegetables including carrots, cantaloupe and most greens.

Vitamin C - A powerful antioxidant required for tissue and growth repair, promotes healing and helps reducing blood pressure and stress hormones. Found in onions, oranges, leafy vegetables, and berries.

Vitamin D - Is needed for calcium absorbtion and this is converted from the sun's UV rays and us melaninated beings require at least 20 minutes daily sunlight on at least the face and arms (preferably not washing until at least 30minutes after to allow absorbtion into the bloodstream). Foods to consider are oatmeal and sweet potatoes.

Vitamin E - An anti-oxident that supports a healthy heart and heart cells; zinc is required to maintain good levels of Vitamin E and foods including nuts, seedsm wheatgerm and potatoes all provide good sources.

Vitamin K - Needed for blood clotting; found in soybeans, broccoli and dark vegetables.

SKIN CARE

The bad...

Humectants are used in cosmetics and ARE REALLY industrial strength anti-freeze which is used for brake and hydraulic fluid - this is s strong irritant

Mineral Oil  is derived from crude oil used in industry as metal cutting fluid. It suffocates melanin skin by causing an oil film which prevents the skin from taking in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. Artifically holding lots of moisture in the skin can 'flood' the body and result in dry, immature, unhealthy sensitive skin.

Glycerin is a type of humectant made from chemically combining water and fat. Glycerin is a filler used in creams and lotions from losing water through evaporation.

Sodium flouride is blatantly put, rat poision - used in toothpaste.

Alcohol in mouthwash is a higher content that in beerm many liquors and wine. Alcohol in the mouth acts as a solvent making tissues more vulnerable to carcinogens. Mouthwash with more than 25% has been implicated in mouth, tongue and throat cancer.

Collagen and elastin are made predominently from animal skins and ground up chicken feet! The ingredients form a film over the skin suffocating and over moisturising it.

Hypoallergenic means less than - so the consumer believes it contains fewer allergens, however there are no federal guidelines for this or regulation so the manufacturer can include whatever they wish and claim it to be better for you.

Sodium chloride is used to increase the viscosity in certain cosmetics as it is cheap and when mixed with a watery substance, makes it look thick .

Alpha hydroxy acids  are found in many anti-aging so called natural products.

The Good

Shea Butter  is derived from a tree and is an excellent moisturiser and healing balm. It can be used to prevent wrinkles and facial lines and is nourishes the skin with vitamin A, E & F.

Tea Tree Oil is an excellent antiseptic

Aloe Vera  is a succulent plant and natural moisturiser.

Rose water is a good natural cleanser.

Coconut milk soothes dry skin
